U.S. Census Bureau Job Posting

The U.S. Census Bureau, Charlotte Regional Census Center, is seeking qualified applicants to fill several Information Technology (IT) Specialist positions in Charlotte, North Carolina, effective January 2009. We are contacting faculty and professors at colleges, universities and technical schools to help us find applicants for these attractive-paying jobs. Technology and IT Specialists are very important to the overall function of the 2010 Decennial Census. The Census Bureau is extending this offer to students enrolled in IT programs. Their expertise will contribute to collecting accurate data and ensuring that everyone is counted.
Applicants must have experience in LAN connectivity and network operating systems. IT Specialists perform automation functions which include troubleshooting, evaluating, analyzing, providing automation operations and help desk support to the Regional Census Center.

Reports to Vice President of Engineering

Write VB and VB.Net software to control high speed processing equipment.
Write code to collect data and save to SQL database.
Troubleshoot and maintain legacy code
Write PIC programs
Work with customers to facilitate network connection of their equipment.
Design electronic circuitry to facilitate operation of the processing equipment.


Requirements
Minimum AS degree in Electronics or Computer Science.

Must be able to design analog and digital circuits.
Experience in LB.Net, C is a plus
Experience writing PLC and Servo Motor control programs a plus
Good troubleshooting skills are a must.
