Hello CCC&TI Students!

We are very proud of our graduating students from our CCC&TI programs and
are excited about the opportunities that are presented to them because of
the education they have received. So far our graduating classes with the
new skills that they have learned have been able to get promotions/raises
with their current positions, offered positions at CCC to teach our classes
and have the options to pursue higher levels of education to get more
training and knowledge. To add to the all the wonderful opportunities
available to our students we are happy to announce that because of the
skills our students have learned Google has hired some of our top students
from our summer and fall classes.

Through Google's rigorous interview process that is taking in candidates
from all of the country a batch of our students who applied from CCC&TI fit
their needs culturally as well technically. We know there might be some
disappointed folks out there but we don't want anyone to be discouraged.
This is only one of the many opportunities and experiences that will grow as
each student pursues their education goals to further the knowledge that
will ultimately make them more competitive in the job marketplace.

Message from Google

Hello Students!
We are very excited to let everyone know that Google will again be contacting students to go through phone interviews but this time for the Data Technician Assistant position. Yes, as you all are thinking this is earlier than what Google communicated but it is good news for us that they could be looking for people sooner than 2008. Now the interviews for those who have been chosen will be happening only by phone so prepare those communication and interview skills we taught you! Google will be in touch with everyone in the next month letting everyone know their status for those who have completed the course.

Congratulations Graduates!!!

We are very proud of you all. If you would like a DVD of the ceremony, please drop off a CD to me (you can leave it at the front desk) and I will get a copy made for you.


I saw many of you at the Directions Event. I hope you got some great information from the employers. I heard some of you had some concerns after you talked to Google and there were questions as to how long your resumes would be kept by Google for consideration. Your resumes will be considered for openings for positions as they come available. You will not need to reapply. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I will be glad to address them.


We met with the Google reps after the event and we are very excited about the future of this partnership.

If you have updates to your resume, please let me know and I will forward the updated resume to Google.

I am working on additional training or Module III. If you have suggestions, please let me know.

Resumes Due 10/15

Resumes for the class that finished last week will be due 10/15. Several students were not able to finish their resumes by the original due date, so I decided to extend the deadline by one week.

Portfolios and T Shirts

I plan to put together a sample Portfolio and house it in the JobLink. Please visit the JobLink AFTER 10/15 to receive a table of contents for your portfolio as well as a list of items used to develop the sample portfolio. These items will be available in the CCC & TI Bookstore.

We are also working to make IT Institute T-Shirts available for sell in the Bookstore. I hope the shirts will be available by 10/20.
